Georgia SAM Summer Conference 2015

Each year we host a small conference at Stone Mountain Park, adjacent to the city of Atlanta, for Georgia SAM teams.  This year’s conference will be held July 8 & 9 and, for the first time, there are a limited number of seats available for SAM team members from other states.  You will find details, below.

Where:  Stone Mountain, Marriott Resort and Conference Center

When:  Arrive Tuesday, July 7, Conference July 8 and 9

What:  Meals, entertainment, incredible speakers and two nights at the resort

Who:  SAM teams

Cost:  $785 per attendee  (covers everything except air and ground transportation)

 

Content:

  •  Three keynote speakers who know the SAM process and will connect their presentations to your daily work of increasing instructional time and connecting the time spent with improved teacher practice.  Sandra Stein, founder of the New York City Leadership Academy, Ken Williams, a former principal and accomplished motivational speaker who specializes in effective PLCs and and Ted Des Maisons, US Coordinator for the United Kingdom’s Mindfulness in Schools project, a remarkable process to decrease distraction, increase focus, well-being and centeredness in schools and school leaders.
  •  Two Focus Sessions with national SAM leaders Kendra Washington Bass and Mark Shellinger designed to connect leader time with change of teacher practice.
  •  Multiple breakout sessions with Georgia SAM colleagues focusing on the work at individual schools that can be applied at your school.
  •  Time to connect with your SAM colleagues from in a relaxed resort setting.
